It's No Surprise There Was A Melee After McGregor/Khabib

It's No Surprise There Was A Melee After McGregor/Khabib

It was supposed to be the biggest night in UFC history as Conor McGregor returned to the Octagon to fight the undefeated Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for the title at UFC 229. Khabib ultimately won the fight after forcing McGregor to submit in the fourth round, but that wasn't the story. The major story is what happened immediately after McGregor tapped out. Khabib jumped over the cage and went after members of McGregor's team, while one member of Khabib's team jumped into the cage & sucker punched McGregor from behind. To say it was wild would be an understatement,

The reaction to the incident is mostly negative, with many saying it put a black eye on the event and the sport as a whole. Jonas Knox has an entirely different view on the incident. Listen to the audio above as Jonas explains why UFC 229 melee is not surprising at all.
