The Red Sox Are The New Evil Empire

“In the 21st century the Red Sox are the 800-pound gorilla and the Yankees are the franchise who can only one day catch up to Boston excellence.”

-- Clay Travis.

With the Red Sox having won their fourth World Series title since 2004, Clay Travis says the last 14 years has been one of the biggest reversals in the history of professional sports, as the same franchise who was ruthlessly ridiculed with ‘NINETEEN-EIGHTEEN’ chants, and chides of the ‘Curse of the Bambino’ for nearly the entirety of the twentieth century, are now the supreme rulers of the baseball universe.

Clay says it’s astonishing how kids who have grown up in the 2000’s only know the Red Sox as the most successful franchise of the century when the previous generations knew from the very first days they followed baseball that the Red Sox were the franchise who was always doomed to never on the biggest stage.

Listen to the full audio below as Clay explains how the Red Sox are the new Yankees, and how for the first time in 100 years, the team from New York is officially the little brother to the mighty Sox.
