Kevin Durant Goes Off On The Media When Asked About Free Agency

Kevin Durant addressed the media the other night after the Golden State Warriors were victorious against the San Antonio Spurs. The final score at the end of the game was 102-141, but the team stood little chance against the juggernaut from the Bay since they were without LaMarcus Aldridge, Derrick White and DeMar DeRozan.

In the post-game press conference in what appeared to be a despondent Kevin Durant at the podium, he was asked to address a few game topics in regards to what gave his team the victory. One reporter then posed this question:

Reporter: We've noticed that you haven't talked for a while. Is it anything to do with anything on your mind, or has it just been a coincidence?
Durant: Why do you care?
Reporter: Because, you usually talk.
Durant: I ain't feel like talkin' the last couple of days.
Reporter: Anything particular?
Durant: Nah, I just don't feel like it.
Reporter Anything to do with conversation about Free Agency?
Durant: That's the conversation you gon' have. I don't think about that type of stuff. That's your job.
Reporter: You've obviously been around the noise for so long. Does it bother you more, this year, is it louder this year?
Durant: It's unnecessary. You got a dude, Ethan Strauss who comes in here and just gives his whole opinion on stuff and makes it seem like it's coming from me. And he just walks around here, (doesn't talk to anybody) and surveys the room and writes something and now y'all are all piling on me because I don't want to talk to y'all about that. I have nothing to do with the Knicks. I don't know who traded Porziņģis. It's got nothing to do with me. I'm trying to play basketball. Y'all come here every day, ask me about free agency, ask my teammates, my coaches, you rile up the fans about it...LET US PLAY BASKETBALL. That's all I'm saying. And now when I don't want to talk to you, It's a problem with me. Come on man, GROW UP. (Durant makes eye contact with someone in the room) Yeah, YOU...grow up.

Durant continues to hammer down the fact he just wants to play basketball, and he's tired of talking to the media about nonsense and finds it doesn't benefit him in any way. Another reporter tries to justify the feelings in the room saying:

Reporter 2: Kevin the free agency really hadn't been that much of a discussion coming to you because we got it loud and clear (at least most of us should have) that it was off limits.
Durant: What's the problem now?
Reporter 2: Just that, you have been quiet and you're not usually quiet. You usually share your opinions and stuff. So everybody is trying to figure out what's going on and we're all getting questions from fans like, "What's wrong with Kevin?" We'll say, "He's playing okay, but he's not talking right now."
Durant: I just don't trust any of you. Every time I say something, it gets twisted up and thrown out in so many different publications. They try to tear me down with my words that I say so when I don't say anything, it's a problem. I just wanna play ball.

When a reporter tries to change the subject back to how the Warriors have been playing the last couple of weeks, Durant storms out saying:

I'M DONE! You know you don't care about that.
