Alex Morgan Trolls England With Tea Drinking Goal Celebration

The USWNT defeated England in the semifinals, 2-1

The United States Women’s National Team is onto the World Cup Finals after an electric 2-1 semi finals victory over England, Tuesday.

The game was partially overshadowed by FIFA’s often antagonistic video replay system that had its own part in trying to decimate both teams, first taking an English goal off the board from a borderline offside call, then awarding the English a penalty kick after a phantom trip was called against the United States in the box.

The lasting image from Wednesday’s thriller, however, was Alex Morgan’s game-winner that was met with a swift troll job of England, as Morgan went pinkies out with a tea-sipping celebration of England’s most beloved beverage that is synonymous with English culture.

Former English footballers are already voicing their disdain for the creative jab, with beIN Sports soccer commentator, Lianne Sanderson calling Morgan’s stunt ‘distasteful’.

The United States has been the most polarizing team at the tournament, first angering many around the sport with their opening game 13-0 blowout of Thailand that saw the team still vivaciously celebrating goals in the second half when the game was clearly out of hand, then making headlines for Megan Rapinoe’s ‘I’m not going to the f**king White House’ comment in their continued feud with President Donald Trump.

The United States will take on the winner of Sweden vs. Netherlands (Wednesday, 3pm ET) with the Finals being played Sunday, at 11am ET.
