Carmelo Anthony's Trainer: 'Carmelo is Better Than 70 Percent of the NBA'

Miami Heat v New York Knicks
Chris Brickley: “Carmelo is easily better than 60 percent, 70 percent of the NBA players walking around. It’s just that teams are afraid of the ‘I want to be a starter.’ It’s not the case. Melo just wants to have a farewell season, do what D-Wade did. Have a jersey swap. He had a great career, he’s a Hall of Famer. So hopefully that could happen.”

Former New York Knicks trainer Chris Brickley went on The Breakfast Club Monday, sticking up big time for his free agent client Carmelo Anthony.

When asked by Breakfast Club host DJ Envy what’s the situation with the 35-year-old Anthony who is still an NBA free agent, Brickley compared the end of Anthony’s career with the end of Allen Iverson’s, when teams were wary to bring in the former superstar because of irrational fears that media narratives stirred up.

Brickley says the same way Iverson scared off teams by the thought that he would only want to start in a featured role, Anthony is suffering from the same misconception.

Brickley really went all in on his take when he said Anthony was better than ’60, 70 percent’ of all players in the league.

Anthony hasn’t played in a game since November of 2018, when he was released by the Houston Rockets after only playing in 10 games.
