Colin Cowherd: Stop Saying that Patrick Mahomes is a 'Big Game Quarterback'

Kansas City Chiefs v Los Angeles Rams
Colin Cowherd: “Twenty-five NFL executives picked one quarterback to win ONE game… Tom Brady obviously got the most votes, with 14, but Patrick Mahomes got half the votes of Brady with 7. Apparently these guys used to work at Blockbuster, Radio Shack, or Enron. He’s 1-5 in his six biggest NFL games, and has lost his last four primetime games. Thank God these NFL executives were anonymous or all of them should be fired. Mahomes has not proven he can with the big single game, he’s proven he’s a talented and exciting franchise quarterback who is worth a ton of money.” (Full Video at Bottom of Page)

Watch Colin Cowherd discuss a recent ESPN+ article that asked 25 NFL executives what quarterback they would take to win one single game.

Of the 25 execs polled, 14 said Tom Brady, 7 said Patrick Mahomes, 2 said Russell Wilson, 1 said Drew Brees, and another one said Ben Roethlisberger.

Colin was surprised Mahomes got half the votes Brady did, considering Brady just beat Mahomes head-to-head in the AFC Championship Game in Arrowhead and pointed out that Mahomes is winless in his last four primetime games.

Colin acknowledged that Mahomes is obviously one of the league’s most talented players, and the ‘future’ of the NFL, but doesn’t understand why there are NFL minds out there who are trying to claim he’s some sort of ‘Big Game Quarterback’ at this point in his career.
