Dr. Drew Pinsky: “We are NOT going to be Italy. I’ve had several teleconferences with Italian physicians and they freely admit that they were unprepared, they did not see it coming, and they do not have the adequate resources. We ARE prepared, and the reason we won’t become Italy is we have stamped this thing down and we have massively prepared our system. No one does better than the American healthcare system when it comes to preparing resources, delivering resources, and innovation. We are simply the best in the world. Whenever you see these evaluations of US healthcare, that sort of thing is never measured. You watch, even in places where this thing gets stressed, we will respond. I have deep faith in the healthcare system and my peers, and I would urge everyone to just listen to Anthony Fauci and let him be your North Star. The guy knows exactly what he’s doing. Just do what he tells you and we will be fine… Everything else you see in the press is them trying to capture your eye. They are not helping things and making things much worse to the point where the panic is worse than the outbreak… Don’t get into the spin on social media, take your eyes off the television a bit, and don’t listen to the crazy rhetoric designed to capture your eyes and scare you. Italy has suffered the steepest death in the world toll the last week, and currently has some of the strictest lockdown regulations in place as well.
