The University of Georgia announced that it will allow fans to attend home football games this fall. The UGA Athletic Department said that up to 23,000 fans will be allowed to sit in the stands at Sanford Stadium to watch the Bulldogs play. The capacity for the 92,746-seat stadium will be reduced by about 25%, so that fans can socially distance.
The Bulldogs will play four home games in their stadium, and tickets will only be available to donors and current season ticket holders. Tickets will cost $150 apiece, and will only be available in blocks of four.
Georgia's first home game will be against Auburn on October 3. They will host Tennessee the following week before spending over a month on the road. They will return home to face Mississippi State on November 21 and then close out the season with a home game against Vanderbilt on December 5.
All fans will be required to wear a mask inside the stadium.
Other schools in the SEC have also decided to allow fans to attend games. Alabama will allow 20,000 fans into Bryant-Denny Stadium, and Tennessee said Neyland Stadium will be at 25% capacity.
