Lamar Jackson Has Replaced Peyton Manning as the NFL's New Big Game Choker

Clay Travis: “Has Lamar Jackson let all the ‘big game’ talk and failure get to him? He played in that game versus the Steelers like he was tight, and like he didn’t really have the confidence and the panache that we have gotten used to him having. I wonder whether we’ve got a little bit of a young Peyton Manning factor starting to hang over Lamar Jackson a little bit. In the early days of Peyton Manning, everybody would talk about how amazing he was, and then whenever he got into a big game in the NFL – and trust me I know it’s an unfair criticism because you have to play really well to even get into big games – but Lamar Jackson has never won an NFL playoff game, and lost both times he played in the playoffs. This season when Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs came to Baltimore, that was a beat down the Chiefs put on. And now when the Steelers come to town, they found a way to get a win too, and it was partly because of the poor play of Lamar Jackson. I’m wondering what’s going on with the Ravens, and I’m wondering what’s going on with Lamar Jackson. Are teams starting to catch up with exactly what the Ravens like to do? It used to be that Lamar Jackson playing with a lead was impossible to catch.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Clay Travis explain why he’s wondering if reigning MVP Lamar Jackson might be becoming the NFL’s modern day version of Peyton Manning, as a super talented and reputable NFL star who makes a habit out of coming up the smallest on the biggest stages.

Jackson is 0-2 for his career in the playoffs, as played very poorly in Baltimore’s two losses this season in nationally televised games versus the Chiefs and Steelers.

Check out the audio above as Clay details the parallels between Jackson and the 2000’s version of Peyton on the Colts.
