Colin Cowherd: 49ers Should Dump Jimmy Garoppolo and Trade For Sam Darnold

Colin Cowherd: “I think San Francisco is going to be a bounce-back team. They’re probably going to have three options at quarterback next year. We all acknowledge that Kyle Shanahan is really smart when it comes to offense. He’s 4-0 against McVay with Garoppolo. His options are going to be go trade for Matt Ryan who Shanahan has worked with. Go get Sam Darnold, who probably only costs you a first or a second round pick. Or stick with Garoppolo. Kyle is NOT going to run this thing back again in a division with Kyler Murray, Jared Goff, and Russell Wilson. Their offensive and defensive lines are way better than average, their coach is an ‘A’, their GM is solid, and their ownership is solid… For all the critics of Sam Darnold THIS will be the test. Do you want a pocket passer, past his prime Matt Ryan, or this losing quarterback in Sam Darnold that everybody in America doesn’t like except me? We know Shanahan knows offense, and we know Shanahan is smarter than us with football, and I think this is the one team who has the personnel that will bounce back healthy next year if they get the quarterback right. My gut feeling is that they go with Darnold.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the 49ers should part ways this offseason with Jimmy Garoppolo and try to make a trade with the New York Jets for Sam Darnold, as Colin believes San Francisco could still be an elite ‘bounce-back’ team in 2021 with a better quarterback.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he thinks Darnold could resurrect his career with offensive maestro Kyle Shanahan, and be a more dynamic weapon than Jimmy G.
