Why Trading Aaron Rodgers Might Not Be a Bad Thing for the Packers

Colin Cowherd: “It’s not that complicated – if Jordan Love can play, your problems really aren’t that dire. What you do is after June 1st, you trade Aaron, so you split up the salary cap hit. You call Denver and you say ‘give me three first-rounders and Jerry Juedy the wide receiver.’ He doesn’t cost anything so the dead cap hit for Aaron Rodgers isn’t the end of the world. It all comes down to ‘Can Jordan Love Play??’ I’m not saying ‘problem completely solved’, but if you can get Jerry Jeudy, you’d have Devonte Adams, Jerry Jeudy, Aaron Jones, a top five offensive line, Robert Tonyan the tight end, and Matt LaFleur the coach in a division with dysfunctional Detroit, Kirk Cousins, and rookie Justin Fields. Green Bay would win the division probably easily IF Jordan Love, a guy they drafted in the first round, can play. And that’s why you took him in the first round, right?? Is he Paxton Lynch? Some say he is. Is he a B+ Patrick Mahomes? Some say he is. If Jordan Love is 85% of Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes you got no issues. Aaron is 37, two collar bones, very expensive, prickly, difficult to get along with, wants to go play West, dating someone from Hollywood, he’s doing Jeopardy, it’s a divorce! YOUR’E FINE… If Jordan Love is great then this isn’t that big of a deal.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why the Packers shouldn't have that big of a problem trading 37-year-old Aaron Rodgers, saying you can potentially get a bunch of first-round picks from the Broncos, and also ask for a player like Jerry Jeudy from Denver, and still have a quarterback like Jordan Love, who the franchise claims was worthy of going first round.

Check out the segment above as Colin details why the Packers need to be more comfortable with the idea of a mutual divorce between themselves and Rodgers.
