Blazin' 5: Colin Cowherd Gives His Five Best NFL Bets For Week 8 (October 31st)

(VIDEO SEGMENT ABOVE)

Last Week's Blazin' 5 record: 2-3

2021 Blazin' 5 record: 14-22-1) (Colin made bonus picks in Week 4 & 5)

Dolphins (1-6) at Bills (4-2) (SPREAD: BUF -14)

“Generally, I hate huge numbers but I went with Tampa last week and they covered five minutes into the game. I’m going to go Buffalo -13 to -14. They’re coming off a bye and I think great coaching staffs coming off a bye are very successful. The last six games the Bills have come off after a bye they’ve won all of them. They have dominated this series against Miami and they have great matchup advantages. Josh Allen is 6-0 with a 115 QB Rating the last 6 games vs. Miami. Buffalo’s defense has been the story this year. The Dolphins have a bottom 5 offense and the worst pass blocking offensive line in the league, while the Bills defense is number one rated, and they have the deepest set of defensive linemen. I think with Tua and a distracted locker room the Dolphins get blown out. I love Buffalo winning this weekend, 36-20.”

Colin's prediction: Bills 36, Dolphins 20.

Colin's pick: Buffalo -14

Titans (5-2) at Colts (3-4) (SPREAD: IND -2.5)

“Colts? Like them?I LOVE THEM, I’ll take them -2.5. They’ve won 3 of their last 4 games and their only loss is a game in which they outplayed the Ravens for about 3 of the 4 quarters. Carson Wentz and that offense has 30+ points in back to back games. It took Carson to get Frank Reich back, now he’s comfortable, and his passer rating the last month has been 120. Four straight games with two touchdown passes, no picks, and a 100+ passer rating. Jonathan Taylor now has four straight games with 100+ scrimmage yards. the Colts have a quarterback, a new offense for that quarterback, it’s taken time, but that Titans defense allows 6 yards per play. This is a VERY GOOD matchup and it’s also a much bigger game for the Colts, this is their season. If they lose against the Titans, the Colts go 0-2 vs. Tennessee, and they’re not getting a Wild Card with this record. This is the season for the Colts. I love desperate teams and I love the Colts 28-23.”

Colin's prediction: Colts 28, Titans 23.

Colin's pick: Indianapolis -2.5

Patriots (3-4) at Chargers (4-2) (SPREAD: LAC -4.5)

“I like the Patriots +4.5. First of all, young quarterbacks -- the light goes on for some. Mac Jones is playing really well. The Patriots offense has 13 TDs the past three weeks, and only Tom Brady’s Bucs have more. Thirty-six points per game the past three weeks, 3rd best in the NFL. The story though is Justin Herbert. He faced Bill Belichick last year and lost 45-0. Herbert is a young quarterback and they get eaten alive against Belichick. The defense for the Chargers is the worst rushing defense in the league, and this is Belichick’s best offensive line. I think Justin Herbert sits and watches most of this game from the sideline as the highly efficient Mac Jones offense upsets the Chargers in LA, 27-26.”

Colin's prediction: Patriots 27, Chargers 26

Colin's pick: New England +4.5

Jaguars (1-5) at Seahawks (2-5) (SPREAD: SEA -3.5)

“I like the Jags +3.5. The Jaguars are off a bye, and the Seahawks are on a short week. You’ve got six days of prep and you’ve got Trevor Lawrence starting to really hum, 90+ passer rating in three straight games, leads all rookie quarterbacks with 9 touchdowns and 11.5 yards per completion. He is a big play quarterback, this is a BAD Seattle secondary, a shaky Seahawks offensive line, and Geno Smith has not won a football game since 2016. The last two weeks without Russell Wilson, Seattle is doing NOTHING well. You can say what you want about Urban Meyer, but the truth is that the Jags led Arizona at half, they outplayed Denver for most of the game, they beat the Miami Dolphins, and they’re off a bye. The Jags upset the Seahawks 24-23.”
Colin's prediction: Jaguars 24, Seahawks 23.

Colin's pick: Jacksonville +3.5

Buccaneers (6-1) at Saints (4-2) (SPREAD: TB -4.5)

“I’m going to roll the dice here. Tampa wins but I’m going to take the Saints +4.5 and here’s why. It’s little bit of a revenge game for Jameis against his former team, he’s been humiliated and humbled. The teams that have won on Monday night this year are 6-0 in their following game, they get a little momentum. Remember, Jameis isn’t being asked to do too much, he’s had four games this year with no turnovers. The Saints defense is the story here, though. It is a very good defense, a top 3 defense in the NFL. They’re at home, one of the loudest places, Gronk is still not healthy, AB is still not healthy, and the Bucs have not faced a team with a winning record since Week 3 when they lost to the Rams and were handled. I think this is ugly, I think the Saints keep it close, Sean Payton has had some success against Bruce Arians, Tampa wins but I’m taking the 4.5 and the Saints at home.”

Colin's prediction: Bucs 27, Saints 24.

Colin's pick: New Orleans +4.5
