Why Trevor Lawrence Should Not Have a Say on Jacksonville's Next Head Coach

In the video above, Chris Broussard & Rob Parker react to reports that say Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence would like a say in who the organization decides to hire to replace former Jags coach Urban Meyer. In a season of heavy drama, it's only natural that Lawrence hopes to have a say in who can nurture his talent to be the absolute best for the foreseeable future. Lawrence made sure to mention that he didn't necessarily think he was qualified to have a say but would definitely like to be involved. Jaguars owner Shad Khan agreed with the rookie quarterback.

Chris Broussard & Rob Parker however don't think Lawrence is at that level to have any say. Broussard and Parker believe that many of his peers especially the quarterbacks at the top have next to no say especially when coaches or coordinators get fired. For Lawrence to assume he'll get that opportunity is wishful thinking.

Rob Parker: "No way, No how and if the Jacksonville Jaguars do this, this is why they're in the situation they're in with their owner and what's going on down there. He's a young guy who's done absolutely zero in the NFL. It's different about what scheme works, what are more you comfortable in offensively. Then I wanna have you're inpu; you're the quarterback. But who to hire as coach from a 22-year-old who's done nothing in the NFL? No way would I do that. I think it's lunacy. I'd tell Trevor Lawrence, 'Throw a couple of touchdowns and get back to me.'"
Chris Broussard: "Rob, you're right. We don't even know if Trevor Lawrence is going to be any good. Other than your track record in high school and college, and I've got news for you, just about everybody in the NFL was great in high school and college...I don't even care if he was really good and had solidified himself as Jaguars franchise quarterback."
