Gonzaga Had Wrong Mentality, Lacked Toughness in Loss

Doug Gottlieb: "If Mark Few's real takeaway was that they just didn't make shots, then I think they're mentality is wrong. Though there is some reality to that - the speed, quickness, toughness, physicality, athleticism of Arkansas - that's the reason you got sped up, that's the reason you missed easy shots. They're not as easy because of the physicality and the depth of talent of Arkansas, the defensive styles of Arkansas. It felt a little bit like Mark was making an excuse, and I feel like they just got pushed around. Gonzaga is way better defensively than they used to be, way more athletic than they used to be. Now they're recruiting one-and-dones, some of the best players in the country. The next step is going to be eliminating the mentality of 'you gotta make shots to win games.' The teams that won last night were the tougher teams."
