Deebo Samuel has reportedly asked for a trade from the San Francisco 49ers and Doug thinks it’s not a good look for the outspoken wide receiver. While Deebo is claiming it’s because he doesn’t like the way he’s being used, his true motive is not difficult to decipher; he wants to be paid and respected like one of the best receivers in the NFL. He clearly doesn’t realize how good he has it right where he is.
Doug Gottlieb: “I think Deebo Samuel looks quite foolish in this. He’s a tremendous football player. This in no way is an indictment of what he brings to the Niners. But I don’t believe that he has a great feel or understanding for just how good the guy who uses him is, and this is simply a keeping up with the Joneses, everybody’s getting paid sort of moment.”
