I didn’t have him in my top 10 quarterback list earlier this week -- ‘WHAT’S GOING ON!?’ What’s going on is that two years ago Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, and Kyler Murray weren’t this great. People have replaced him and many of the young AFC quarterbacks are better, that’s why he’s out of my top 10. There is also a truth about Lamar – he has struggled playing from behind and he struggled in the postseason. These are truths, not just narratives. As wide receivers now make significantly more money than they made just five years ago, receivers want to play for the best quarterback. Remember, Hollywood Brown, his number one receiver left, and many speculate that Hollywood Brown just did not think he could get the big numbers with Lamar. Lamar likes to throw to tight ends a lot, especially on big third downs with pressure. I don’t think Hollywood Brown is leaving Patrick Mahomes, I don’t think he’s leaving Josh Allen, I don’t think he’s leaving Brady, I don’t think he’s leaving Matt Stafford. He left Lamar and they were supposed to be friends. There is a sense that certain quarterbacks in this league are ascending and I think there’s a feeling around the league – fair or not – maybe Lamar is no longer ascending.
