Raiders Are the Victim of Circumstance

Thursday on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Raiders QB Derek Carr says his team is being overlooked and "no on thinks anything of us." While he may have a point, Jonas Knox, Brady Quinn and LaVar Arrington believe that's only because of their competition in the AFC West, otherwise they'd be favored in most other divisions.

Jonas Knox: "Isn't this just a product of the situation you're in? It's just bad timing, you happen to be playing in the same division who's got three generational talents at quarterback."
Brady Quinn: "He brings up a lot of good points. They were a playoff team a year ago. I think Derek Carr has not been given enough credit throughout his entire career for how he's performed...  I think all four are playoff teams, the only problem is they all play in the same division. So it's unfortunate."
LaVar Arrington: "If I'm the Raiders and I'm a Raiders fan, I'm optimistic because as competitive as the West is going to be, it still seems like they are in the heart of the race. I don't think that it's a foregone conclusion that anyone runs away with it."
Jonas Knox: "You can make a real argument that if they were in at least two or three other divisions that they would probably be favored to win the division."
