John Smoltz: Astros' No-Hitter By No Means Rivals Don Larsen’s

Hall of Fame Pitcher and FOX MLB Analyst, John Smoltz joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show. He admits last night’s win by the Houston Astros over the Philadelphia Phillies in game 4 should be considered a no-hitter even though it took four pitchers to do it, but it doesn’t hold a candle to Don Larsen’s perfect game. However, it was a much needed win for Houston and he expects Justin Verlander to make some adjustments and improve for tonight’s game 5.

Dan Patrick: “Was that a no-hitter?”

John Smoltz: “It was. It wasn’t the no-hitter that Don (Larsen) pitched by any means, and his was a perfect game, but you know anytime you do something that is very difficult, whether it’s five pitchers or two pitchers, it’s a pretty incredible feat at this time of the year.”
