Dan Beyer & Monse Bolaños are filling in for Doug Gottlieb today and they react to the perfect game thrown by New York Yankees P Domingo German against the A’s in Oakland last night. While many are downplaying the achievement because the A’s are so bad this season, Dan and Monse stick up for German and, frankly, everyone involved last night from the umpires to the coaches and all the players in between. German will get his name in the history books but he needed everyone to do their job.
Dan Beyer: “The guy gets the label as the perfect game, but there are so many things that have to go right that make it more than the person and make the feat more rare than we actually think it is.”
Monse Bolaños: “So many people have to do their job in order for a perfect game...”
