Jerry West Saying Wembanyama is Similar to Bill Russell is a Fair Take

Chris Broussard: “Bill Russell was not the most skilled offensive player but he was a tremendous rebounder and a tenacious defender and he was the hub of that dynasty that won 11 championships in Boston because of his defense. I think Jerry West made that comparison because he’s (West) saying when he (Wembanyama) gets in shape, when he gets stronger, when he becomes a man... he’s going to wreak havoc defensively... but now you add the offense that you saw in game 2."
Chris Broussard: “I don’t think he’s (Wembanyama) being setup for failure. In today’s world where there’s so much media coverage and someone shows this type of promise, it’s what happens."
