The Chiefs and QB Patrick Mahomes have agreed to restructure his contract to include more guaranteed money over the next 4 years making him the highest player in the league once over that span. Doug Gottlieb leans on news anchor Dan Beyer for the latest details and speculates on what this means for the Chiefs and the rest of the league.
Doug Gottlieb: “I don’t think this is even necessarily about making sure that (Patrick Mahomes) is paid commensurate with the top of the league. I would guess, when it all comes out, it’s about opening cap space, right? Because what hinders them right now is, he’s taking up 18% of the cap.”
