NBA on TNT co-host Charles Barkley apologized to Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets after they were left off a graphic promoting NBA’s opening night games, but Doug thinks the apology was unnecessary. The Nuggets may be the defending champs, but that doesn’t mean NBA fans want to watch them play. The customer is always right and, much like with the WNBA, you cannot force them to watch a team just because that team is good.
Doug Gottlieb: “We can’t force people to watch TV, to watch your team just because you’re better than other people...The customer is always right. The customers want the Lakers...they don’t actually care about (Nikola) Jokić even though he’s better than all those teams.”
