The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker break down Grizzlies controversial star Ja Morant and his return to the hardwood after a 25 game suspension from the NBA. The Odd Couple debates whether or not the former face of the Grizzlies franchise will ever be able to fix his image and regain his old star status!
Rob Parker: “I think he would need to win an MVP, get to the NBA finals, or something of that magnitude for people to say, 'man what a recovery man look at what he did to come back,' because I think he’s the enemy or the public enemy for opposing fans. I think people look at him sideways and they will for a while. Usually winning is a thing that can totally white wash that away!
Chris Broussard: “He will have to go a long way in cleaning up his image even before winning the MVP, I don’t know I think he’s a young man who is only 24. It is shown with athletes time and time again that America is willing to give second chances. I think people lump his mistakes together, and if he will also show remorse and is a good guy going forward, then I think he can rehabilitate the image. Of course he has to play well, but even if he was no longer a great player, if he was a good guy I think he could rehabilitate that image.”
