Rob Parker Says Michigan 'Cheaters' Shouldn't Celebrate a 'Tainted' Title

Rob Parker: “This should be a nice story with a nice bow. Finally, the maize and blue get their National Championship that their fan base has been wanting for so long... BUT they can’t fully embrace it or feel good about it. Michigan’s National Championship is TAINTED. There’s no way around it. Is it TAINTED. If you were to touch it, you would have to wash your hands. It’s STINKY, I'm sorry. I know the Michigan faithful is feeling like ‘OH, MY GOD, WE DID IT! WE’RE THE GREATEST!’... Jim Harbaugh was five minutes away from being tarred and feathered, and run out of Ann Arbor. That’s how bad it was. It was horrendous what had happened. So much so that they embarrassed him and made him take a pay cut. The ‘turnaround’ also coincides with certain coaches and people being involved in the University. For Jim Harbaugh to stand up there and talk about how they were ‘innocent’ and didn’t do anything, how could that be, Jim Harbaugh? Why did you get rid of two coaches this past year?? I wouldn’t have gotten rid of anybody if they were innocent! I would have stood up for those guys! Those are your coaches that you hired and that you paid, so why did you get rid of them during your undefeated championship season if they didn’t do anything wrong? Why did you accept a suspension at the end of the year? YOU were the one who stood up there and said ‘I WANT MY DUE PROCESS! I WANT MY DAY IN COURT!’... And then once the conference came and showed you what they had, you hightailed it and all of the sudden that didn’t matter to you. How can you sit here, be a Michigan fan, wear the winged helmet and all of that, and act like nothing happened? Michigan football is just like the Houston Astros. They’re STINKY, they’re CHEATERS, there’s a reason not to feel good about this championship. It’s just a matter of time before it all comes out in the wash, because there is an investigation that is not complete, and we will find more results. This team was going nowhere fast, and all of the sudden things change the last couple of years when this guy, who was roaming the sidelines, wearing disguises, and apparently stealing signs, and then all of the sudden turns the fortunes of Michigan around. THAT is why I’m not going to embrace it. When I see the final investigation, and if they say they’re totally exonerated and it was a mistake, I’ll embrace it. But until then, I’m keeping my arms distanced to the that championship. If I was near it, I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole.” (Full Segment Above)

Watch Rob Parker of Fox Sports Radio’s The Odd Couple explain why he doesn’t think Michigan football fans should embrace their first National Championship since 1997, calling it a ‘tainted’ title that could very well be vacated in the coming years.

Michigan is alleged to have illegally filmed the sidelines of upcoming opponents by sending staffers to away games to take surveillance of the other’s teams offensive and defensive signals, a practice that becomes illicit when it involves the usage of technology.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended three games because of the accusations, another assistant coach was fired for allegedly destroying evidence during the investigation, and a Wolverines staffer named ‘Connor Stalings’ resigned after becoming one of the main protagonists of the scandal, apparently being in possession of a 'Michigan Manifesto' containing over 600 pages of clandestine plans for the program.

Check out the segment above as Parker compares the Wolverines to the Houston Astros, who were also disgracefully embroiled in a sign-stealing scandal of their own, and says no one should ‘feel good’ about a championship that won’t be considered legitimate until the NCAA wraps up their entire investigation into the scandalous claims.
