Rob Parker Says Cowboys Need to Get Rid of Dak Prescott ASAP

Rob Parker: “Dak Prescott was horrible. Firing Mike McCarthy is the EASY part, but I want to talk about Dak Prescott because that’s where you have the issue if you’re the Dallas Cowboys. He is now 2-5 in the postseason; they just can’t get over the hump and into the NFC Championship. They keep stumbling when people think they’re going to have this run. Before you looked up they were down 27-0. I’m convinced that the Dallas Cowboys cannot continue to go on any further with Dak Prescott. They MUST move on from Dak Prescott. Jerry Jones is already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame but he knows his full ticket will never be punched until that team can win a Super Bowl under his watch. Jimmy Johnson was the one who engineered all that when the were winning 25, 30 years ago. Since Jerry has taken over the Cowboys as a ‘mom and pop’ store – because that’s what it is; all his kids are there -- they don’t win anything. I’ll figure out who I’m replacing him with later, but I’m not restructuring his contract, I’m not giving him a new deal, I’m looking to make a trade and move on from Dak Prescott. Trey Lance didn’t get a chance to play. He played three games, got hurt, and everyone made the judgement ‘HE CAN’T PLAY!’... Really?? We don’t know what Trey Lance is but we KNOW what Dak Prescott is. At this point I’d rather take the unknown rather than the known. The ‘known’ means we’re not going anywhere as long as he’s quarterback. How many years are we going to do this?? For Dak to say after the game ‘I suck’... THANKS, DAK, WE KNOW! WE SAW THE GAME WITH YOU! YOU DIDN’T NEED TO TELL US THAT!... I would move to trade Dak Prescott. I gotta get him out of a Cowboys uniform. I gotta move on. Drastic times call for drastic measures. This is drastic. He just came off one of the best seasons he’s ever had and then he lays a stinker. He turned to goo when the bright lights turned on. This is not one or two years, he’s been there seven years. Jerry Jones is old and wants to win again. I’m not saying there’s not a place for him [Dak Prescott], sometimes you need a change of scenery and go somewhere else, but it’s insanity to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. How can somebody melt down consistently when the bright lights are on?? Prescott is set to have a $59.5 million cap hit in 2024, the second highest in the NFL. They’re already $15 million over the salary cap with their starting left tackle and center heading to free agency, and contract extensions are looming for Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb. Dallas has to do something, they have to figure this out sooner rather than later.”

Watch Rob Parker of Fox Sports Radio’s The Odd Couple explain why the Dallas Cowboys need to trade Dak Prescott as soon as possible, with Rob discussing the catastrophe in Dallas on Sunday that saw the Cowboys get annihilated at home to the underdog Packers.

Prescott fell to 2-5 for his career in the postseason, with the usual chatter returning that Prescott is a regular season stat-padding specialist who will predictably gag in the playoffs.

Check out the segment above as Parker says it might be time to give backup QB and former top 5 pick Trey Lance a shot, adding that it’s simply a foregone conclusion at this point that Dallas is never going to reach the Super Bowl with Prescott.
