Colin Cowherd Rips Aaron Rodgers' Decision For Wanting to Join the Jets

Colin Cowherd: “When Tom Brady left New England there were a lot of choices he could have made but what did he choose? He chose an offensive line that was 7th in the NFL, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Cameron Brate, OJ Howard, offensive coach... Brady looked at what his current situation didn’t have and it frustrated him. He wanted an offensive coach, better weapons, guys that could separate, so he made really good choices. Then there was Matt Stafford. He had a no-trade clause, he could have vetoed anywhere, and he looked at the Rams and went – 'I'm older, they got a great left tackle – Andrew Whitworth, super smart head coach, star receiver -- Cooper Kupp, and a good defense.' The Rams o-line was third the year before he got there. Even if Brady and Stafford didn’t win a Super Bowl, their choices were really smart. Older quarterbacks, elite o-lines, weapons, offensive coaches... Stafford and Brady wanted to go to the weaker conference. Then there’s Aaron Rodgers... He had a very smart offensive coach. He had a very good offensive line, it was ranked third. He had a star running back, and they just drafted Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson -- really, really talented young receivers. And Aaron went ‘NAH, I WANNA GO TO A DEFENSIVE COACH WITH A LOSING RECORD, TO THE 31ST RANKED OFFENSIVE LINE, IMPULSIVE OWNER, ONLY ONE STAR WIDE RECEIVER, IN A MUCH TOUGHER DIVISION, IN A MUCH TOUGHER CONFERENCE WITH SEVEN YOUNG QUARTERBACKS IN THEIR PRIME...’ Forget about his vaccine and political opinions, Aaron’s football IQ isn’t very high. Even Russell Wilson chose Hackett -- an offensive coach, Jerry Jeudy, Cortland Sutton, Bolles the left tackle, a good star young running back, tight end they liked, and some nice young defensive players. When I look at Aaron Rodgers, was it delusion or just narcissism and hubris? You think Brady would have chosen the Jets?? You think Stafford would have chosen that offensive line?? It’s not just that Aaron’s results this year were horrible, his choice was. You’re going to go face Josh Allen twice a year??”

Watch Colin Cowherd of FS1’s The Herd rip Aaron Rodgers for his decision to join the New York Jets last offseason, calling him out for having a ‘low football IQ’ for wanting to spend his final seasons on one of the NFL’s most dysfunctional franchises.

Check out the segment above as Colin compares Aaron’s disastrous decision to that of storybook exoduses of Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford, and detail how Rodgers may have just been delusional to think he could leave astute Green Bay for eye sore New York.
