Rob Parker: Cowboys Should Demand that Dak Prescott Take a Pay Cut

Chris Broussard: “Dak Prescott is up for a contract extension, and the report says that Dak Prescott wants $60 million per year. Joe Burrow is currently the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL making $55 million a year. What are your thoughts?”

Rob Parker: “NO WAY, NO HOW WOULD I GIVE DAK PRESCOTT $60 MILLION.
I don’t care if he’s ‘in line’ for it. We know how it goes, it’s all about when your contract is up and the next guy is usually the highest-paid guy, but at some point you gotta buck the trend. If you’re the Dallas Cowboys, you gotta say ‘WE’RE NOT PAYING YOU THAT. CAN WE PUT ON THE FILM OF THE PLAYOFF GAME YOU HAD AGAINST GREEN BAY? THAT DEBACLE! LOOK AT YOUR POSTSEASON RECORD! LOOK AT THE SEASONS WE’VE LOST POSTSEASON GAMES AT HOME AND STRUGGLED OFFENSIVELY! WE’RE NOT DOING IT! IF YOU WANT TO STAY A PART OF THE DALLAS COWBOYS AND YOU WANT TO KEEP MAKING ALL THAT ENDORSEMENT MONEY AS QUARTERBACK ON THE DALLAS COWBOYS, YOU’RE GOING TO GIVE US A TEXAS DISCOUNT!’
What do they say, ‘everything is bigger in Texas’, including when you stink in the postseason. The Cowboys and Jerry Jones should DEMAND a discount from Dak Prescott. And Micah Parsons – please... Stop it! ‘Other than Patrick Mahomes, no quarterback has done as much as Dak’... Please, stop it because Dak has done NOTHING. Dak hasn’t done enough to deserve a $60 million a year contract. I don’t care if he’s ‘next man up’, and that’s how it’s been going. Pay the people not the position, that’s what the Cowboys should do.
At this point, I would take the unknown over the known. The ‘known’ is this guy can’t get it done when it matters. That’s the ‘known’. The ‘unknown’ is me bringing somebody in who might be a Brock Purdy, Patrick Mahomes, or Jordan Love his first year as a starter. What if they could utilize all those weapons that are available?”

Watch Rob Parker of Fox Sports Radio’s The Odd Couple blast Dak Prescott for reportedly seeking a $60 million per year contract extension from the Dallas Cowboys, as Parker says the Cowboys should demand the postseason failure take a pay cut instead.

Check out the segment above as Parker says the Cowboys should just simply dare Prescott to hit the open market and seek $60 million a year somewhere else, adding that he’d rather go with an ‘unknown’ young QB like Brock Purdy or Jordan Love out of the Draft than stick with an underachieving veteran wanting to be the highest-paid player in league history.
