Sixers Ownership’s Ticket Gesture Seems a Little Desperate

The Philadelphia 76ers ownership group has purchased 2,000 tickets to tonight’s game 6 at the Wells Fargo Center against the Knicks and plans to hand them out to first responders, apparently to make sure Knicks fans don’t snatch them up in an attempt to negate the Sixers' home-court advantage. While it is truly a great gesture, it is embarrassing that there were still 2,000 tickets unsold.

Dan Patrick: “It’s a great gesture but it’s embarrassing that they got to the point where he needed to make a great gesture and buy all these tickets, right? Because if the tickets weren’t available, I don’t think he’s going to go out and buy all these tickets and give (them) to first responders.”
