Zach Ertz Talks Eagles Game, Stanford and The Philly Special

Tightend for the Philadelphia Eagles, Zach Ertz called into the Doug Gottlieb show coming off the Eagles victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Zach talks about what happened during the weather delay and what he did to relieve himself of nerves going into the first game of the season. He also talks about the ebbs and flows of the game including how the fans briefly turned on them midway through:

"If we're not rolling on offense in the first half, we're going to get booed. But at this point, I'm almost like, it is what it is. I know when I play badly. If we're playing bad as an offense, the fans don't have to let me know. I know already, but I don't get upset with it."

He got really honest about his and the team's performance last night:

"We just couldn't get a drive going early in the game. We didn't have great field position and when you're first and ten from your own 2-yard line, It's tough to go 98 yards in the NFL, especially against a team like the Falcons...There was no panic on our part. Obviously, I have to play better. I didn't feel like I had a great game last night."

Zach Ertz also had positive words to say about Falcons' Keanu Neal and wished him a speedy recovery from the ACL injury he suffered last night.

On the Philly Special:

"I can't believe that Doug (Pederson) called the play. Needless to say, Doug was right, and the play is great. I told Nick Foles before the play started, that he better get out of bounds the moment he gets that first down...Phenomenal Play Call."

Doug and Zach also talk about USC vs. Standford (Zach's alma mater) and more!
