Falcons Drafting Michael Penix Jr. Makes No Sense

Doug Gottlieb: "Signing Kirk Cousins when you desperately needed a quarterback to win, and win now, made sense to me. Drafting his eventual replacement who won't play for 2 years... drafting a backup for at least 2 years when he's 25 years old, when he's had multiple injuries, but more than anything, when I thought you were in win now mode - it doesn't make sense to me."

Doug Gottlieb reacts to the Falcons selecting Michael Penix Jr. eighth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. Doug attempts to see the logic behind the Falcons' decision, and explains why the pick of Penix lacks any sensible justification given the state of the franchise in Atlanta after signing Kirk Cousins.
